Job summary

Plume School is seeking a part-time Learning Support Assistant to start Autumn 2026 on a fixed-term basis until 21 July 2027. The role supports SEND students in a strong department within our academy.

You will help with progress, learning, achievement, and wellbeing in line with national curriculum and school policies, working with Year 7 to 13 students and collaborating with teachers. The successful candidate should have Maths and English GCSE at grade C/4 or equivalent Level 2, with TA or

  • Willingness to support learning for Year 7–13 students in SEND environment.
  • Hardworking, enthusiastic with strong commitment.
  • Experience in SEN or classroom support desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support progress and learning of SEND students.
  • Assist with wellbeing and behaviour management.
  • Work within academy policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff in Year 7–13.

Job description

We are seeking to appoint a part time Learning Support Assistant tostart from Autumn 2026 on a fixed-term basis until 21 July 2027. Thepost offers an excellent opportunity to work in a strong SEND departmentin our highly successful academy which holds a good Ofsted status.

Thecore purpose of the role is to support the progress, learning,achievement, and wellbeing of SEND students in line with the NationalCurriculum, codes of practice and academy policies and procedures.

Personal Qualities

Thesuccessful applicant should have qualifications in Maths and English atminimum C grade [or grade 4] GCSE or equivalent Level 2 qualification.It is desirable that the applicant has further relevant qualificationse.g., TA qualification, qualification in childcare or A levels/Level 3qualifications.

Applicants should be hardworking, enthusiasticand have a high level of commitment and ability to focus on fosteringthe teaching and learning and personal development of Year 7 to 13students.
