Job Description
The Learning Support Assistant (LSA) will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support students with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning needs in a secondary school setting. The role involves assisting students in accessing the curriculum, fostering independence, and promoting a positive learning environment. Duties may include one-to-one support, small group work, and general classroom assistance to ensure all students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with SEN or additional needs in the classroom.
- Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Encourage student participation and engagement in learning activities.
- Provide emotional and behavioral support as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and parents to monitor progress.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with young people or SEN (preferred).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
