Learning Support Assistant

Salary:A1 / B1 NJCpro rata salary dependent on experience and qualifications

Hours:31 hours and 15 minutes per week

31 hours 15 minutes per week / 08.30 to 3.15pm Monday to Friday term time only with 30-minute unpaid break per day.

Term time only (plus up to 5 additional daysper year for staff training)

Contract type:Fixed Term (initially until July 2026 – linked to pupil funding)

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, and positive Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team and support the learning and wellbeing of our pupils.

About the Role:
Working under the direction of the Class Teacher, SENCO, and Senior Leadership Team, you will provide targeted support for pupils, helping to enhance their educational experience. The role also includes 30 minutes per day of lunchtime supervision.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • A commitment to improving children’s learning through tailored provision;
  • The ability to inspire, motivate, and engage children across all areas of learning;
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a calm, nurturing approach
  • A variety of communication skills to respond to the needs of children and work effectively with professionals and carers;
  • The ability to build positive relationships with other staff and demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills with a flexible, 'can do' attitude;
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills
  • Experience of delivering interventions and understanding how to meet the needs of SEND pupils as well as promoting inclusion;
  • Experience of using positive behaviour management techniques or the willingness to undergo additional training;
  • A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.
