Job summary

Morgan Jones is seeking a Learning Support Assistant in Bromley to join their SEND team, providing essential support to learners with SEN to access learning and develop independence.

You will support educational and social development, assist with progress assessments, and help learners access specialist equipment and services in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English.
• Experience in multicultural settings or with SEN learners.
• Understanding of safeguarding and disability awareness.
• Strong communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Support learners’ educational and social development under the direction of teaching and support staff.
• Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and study skills development.
• Assist with assessing learner progress and contribute to person-centred support plans.
• Provide personal care and mobility assistance where required.
• Identify and reduce barriers to learning using appropriate strategies.
• Ensure learners can access specialist equipment, support services and classroom activities.
• Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals when needed.
• Participate in meetings and reviews to support learner development.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant to join their SEND team. In this role, you will provide vital support to young people and adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access learning, achieve academic goals, and develop independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Support learners’ educational and social development under the direction of teaching and support staff.
• Encourage independence, self‑advocacy, and development of study skills.
• Assist with assessing learner progress and contributing to person‑centred support plans.
• Provide personal care and mobility assistance where required.
• Identify and reduce barriers to learning using appropriate strategies.
• Ensure learners can access specialist equipment, support services and classroom activities.

Candidate Requirements
