Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is seeking Learning Support Assistants to support learners with SEN in a term-time, temporary role based in Bexley. The position offers a 21-hour week schedule with pro rata pay and a strong emphasis on inclusion and student development.

You will work closely with students to promote independence, access to learning, and achievement of educational goals within a supportive, values‑led environment.

Qualifications

  • Good standard of general education.
  • Level 2 Maths and English, or willingness to achieve these qualifications.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education practices.
  • Experience supporting individuals with additional needs, or a willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and continuous professional development.
  • Previous experience supporting learners with SEN within a school, college, or similar environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support learners in educational, social, and personal development activities.
  • Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and positive learning behaviours.
  • Assist with implementing individual support plans and EHCP outcomes.
  • Provide personal care and mobility support where required.
  • Help identify and overcome barriers to learning and participation.
  • Support learners to access all available college services and activities.
  • Assist with maintaining safe learning environments and equipment.
  • Monitor and report on learner progress and wellbeing.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies where appropriate.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required

Learning Support Assistant

Salary: £26,803 to £27,597 pro rata 21 hours per week
