Job summary

Compass Eko Trust seeks a Learning Support Assistant at Rowan Wood School to support pupils aged 4-19 with autism and significant language and learning delays. You will assist teachers with personal welfare, social and educational needs, including intimate care, and help manage behaviour in a supportive learning environment.

This role is term-time plus 5 INSET days, 32.5 hours per week, with an actual salary of £24,253–£24,600.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by supporting personal welfare, social and educational needs of children with identified learning difficulties (severe autism).
• Provide intimate care as required and assist with managing challenging behaviour.
• Support students in physical activities such as swimming and PE as part of inclusive learning.

Salary: Actual Salary - £24,253 - £24,600
Contract: Permanent Contract - 32.50 hours per week. Term Time Only plus 5 INSET days (39 weeks per year).

Rowan Wood is part of The Compass Eko Trust, an innovative Multi-Academy Trust.

We would like to appoint Learning Support Assistants to provide practical assistance to teachers in the school in meeting the personal welfare, social and education needs of children with identified learning difficulties (severe/complex autism), with an emphasis on personal welfare. We provide a safe and healthy environment for our children. You will also be involved in providing intimate care, managing challenging behaviour and actively participating in physical activities such as swimming and PE.
