Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a SEND Graduate Teaching Assistant in Bolton for a full-time, term-time role with an ASAP/September start. The position is a temporary assignment with potential for permanency, in a supportive SEND school environment.

You will assist pupils with SEND one-to-one and in small groups, collaborating with the class teacher to deliver differentiated learning activities and to support a range of needs including ASC, ADHD, speech and language, and SEMH.

Qualifications

  • A degree in any subject.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEND on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging, differentiated learning activities.
  • Supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and confidence throughout the school day.
  • Helping to create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Assisting with personal care where required, depending on individual pupil needs.

We’re currently recruiting for a SEND Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEND School in Bolton. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

You’ll be working in a specialist educational setting that is dedicated to supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain valuable hands‑on experience before progressing into teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy or another child‑focused profession.

The role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience and the requirements of the assignment.
