Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting a Learning and Pastoral Support Teaching Assistant to assist students with SEMH, Autism, and ADHD in a supportive, structured environment. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 16:30, with term-time hours ensuring holidays off.

You will work in small groups or one-on-one settings, applying trauma-informed practice to help students build independence and progress on EHCP/IEP plans alongside teachers.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEND or SEMH needs.
• 3 to 6 months of experience in an educational setting working with challenging behaviours.
• Proactive, dedicated attitude and commitment to student welfare.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
• Willingness to complete a full enhanced DBS check.

What You Will Be Doing

• Fostering a safe, positive environment using restorative behaviour frameworks

What You Need

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/5 or Level 2 equivalent
• Proven experience supporting SEND or SEMH needs
• 3 to 6 months of experience in an educational setting working with challenging behaviours
• A proactive, dedicated attitude and a genuine commitment to student welfare
• Right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship)
• Willingness to complete a full enhanced DBS check

Bonus Points If You Have

• Background experience in counselling, psychology-based settings, or foster care
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
