Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated Learning and Pastoral Support Teaching Assistant to help young people with SEMH, Autism, and ADHD thrive in a structured environment. You will work on a hands-on role supporting learning and pastoral care.

The role involves collaborating with teachers on EHCP/IEP plans, applying trauma-informed strategies, and maintaining progress records while promoting a safe, restorative classroom culture.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/5 or Level 2 equivalent.
• Proven experience supporting SEND or SEMH needs.
• 3 to 6 months of experience in an educational setting working with challenging behaviours.
• A proactive, dedicated attitude and a genuine commitment to student welfare.
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not offered).
• Willingness to complete a full enhanced DBS check.

The Details

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 16:30
• Enjoy every school holiday off with term time only working

What You Will Be Doing

• Supporting students in small, focused class settings with both learning and pastoral care

• Working alongside teachers on EHCP and IEP plans while tracking student progress
• Fostering a safe, positive environment using restorative behaviour frameworks

What You Need
