Job summary

Lakey Lane Primary School in Birmingham seeks a Learning Mentor (Welfare Practitioner) to join its extensive Pastoral Team. The role focuses on pupil welfare and academic progress within a term-time, 36.5-hour weekly schedule.

The Prince Albert Community Trust (PACT) wish to appoint a Learning Mentor to join our extensive Pastoral Team based at Lakey Lane Primary School. As a mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pupils' welfare and academic progress.



Key Responsibilities


  • Provide mentoring to pupils, focusing on their personal and academic development.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to create a supportive learning environment.

  • Develop and implement strategies to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.

  • Be responsible for supporting with whole school behaviour, attendance and safeguarding

  • Monitor and report on pupils' progress, ensuring they receive the necessary support.
