Job summary

Lotus Recruitment Ltd in Richmond seeks passionate Teaching Assistants and Learning Mentors to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in a specialist educational setting.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, build trusting relationships, assist teachers, and help students engage with learning, behaviour and wellbeing, with long-term temp-to-perm opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people in schools, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, care or support settings.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Genuine passion for helping young people overcome challenges and succeed.

Responsibilities

• Support students in and out of the classroom to engage with learning.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may have barriers to education.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to support student progress.
