Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Learning Mentor in the B14 area to support pupils across year groups with learning, behaviour and wellbeing. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to help pupils progress, build confidence and stay engaged in learning.

We offer a competitive daily rate, supportive supervision from a dedicated consultant, and potential for a long-term or permanent position in a welcoming primary school.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Experience with pupils with SEND/SEMH is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

Are you a caring, patient and supportive individual looking to make a real difference in children’s lives?

We are currently recruiting for a Learning Mentor to join a welcoming primary school in the B14 area. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils who may need additional help with their learning, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and confidence within the classroom environment.

The Role:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils across different year groups.
  • Build positive relationships with children, helping them develop confidence and self-esteem.
  • Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Encourage engagement in learning and help pupils overcome barriers to education.
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to ensure pupils make progress.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting good behaviour and attendance.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience working with children in a school, youth work, mentoring or support role.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young people.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs is desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
