Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking Learning Mentors to support students in Newham primary schools, promoting academic growth and emotional well-being. You will work with teachers and families to build a strong support network for each learner.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, empathy, and resilience, with a focus on guiding students through behavioural development and SEN-related targets. Training and collaborative environment offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Behaviour or Learning Mentor is preferred.
• Experience in SEN, challenging behaviour, coaching, or youth work is also highly desirable.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of young people.
• Empathetic, patient, and resilient nature.

Responsibilities

• Mentoring and guiding the students in their behavioural development.
• Assisting students with SEN to set and achieve personal and educational targets.
• Engage and assist with various learning activities and programs.
• Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours.
• Be a positive role model, helping students build confidence and self-esteem.
• Work closely with teachers, parents and other learning mentors to create a comprehensive support network for each student.
