Job summary

Ivy Resource Group is seeking a Learning Mentor to support KS3 and KS4 students in Stroud. You will provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring, helping learners engage with lessons, build confidence and resilience, and prosper beyond barriers to learning.

The role requires a calm, compassionate approach, excellent communication and the ability to travel between sites. Prior experience with additional needs and SEMH is valued, with long-term opportunities available.

Qualifications

• At least 30 days' experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting students with additional needs, SEMH or challenging behaviour is desirable.
• Calm, compassionate and positive approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle; travel between sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small group mentoring to students.

Learning Mentor (KS3 & KS4) | Alternative Provision

Location: Stroud

Pay: £90-£115 per day + Holiday Pay (12.07% of your day rate is accrued into your holiday pot)

Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term

We're recruiting a Learning Mentor to join a welcoming Alternative Provision in Stroud, supporting Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students who benefit from additional guidance both in and out of the classroom.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.

What you'll be doing

• Providing one-to-one and small group mentoring to students.
• Supporting students to engage positively with learning and develop confidence, resilience and independence.
• Building positive relationships and acting as a trusted role model.
• Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and effective coping strategies.
• Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals to support individual learning and behaviour plans.
• Helping create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Supporting educational visits and off-site activities where required.

What we're looking for
