Qualifications

Learning & Behaviour Mentor - Reigate, Surrey

Location: Reigate, Surrey Pay: £100-£115 per day Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Start Date: September 2026

A welcoming SEN school in Reigate, Surrey is looking for a caring and resilient Learning & Behaviour Mentor to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop the skills needed to succeed.

The Role
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with learning, behavioural, and emotional needs.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to help improve confidence, engagement, and wellbeing.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, self-esteem, and developing positive coping strategies.
  • Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and access the curriculum effectively.
  • Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to provide consistent support.
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement and independence.
  • Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and wider school activities.
  • Act as a positive role model, encouraging resilience, responsibility, and personal development.
  • Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND, ASD, ADHD, or challenging behaviour is beneficial.
