Job summary

Cygnet Group's Oakhurst Lodge is seeking caring, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join as a Support Worker (Learning Disabilities). You’ll work a 20-hour permanent contract with 12-, 10-, or 8-hour day shifts on a 7-day rota, supporting adults with autism and learning disabilities to live independent, meaningful lives, within a safe care environment and local community activities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults with autism and/or learning disabilities.
• Understanding behaviours that may challenge and a proactive support approach.
• Caring, compassionate and enthusiastic attitude with a genuine desire to help others succeed.
• Strong communication and ability to build relationships with residents, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines and independence, promoting dignity and wellbeing.
• Accompany residents on activities and outings in the local community.
• Help residents develop new skills and achieve personal goals.
• Provide a safe, supportive environment and clear, respectful communication.
