Responsibilities

• To undertake clinical risk assessment and management plans and develop within these, comprehensive multi agency
• To be one of the nursing specialists within OBIS
• To provide specialist nursing advice for offenders with learning disabilities, including direct work with service users and families, advice to colleagues, other service providers and carers
• To identify and provide training in response to specific service user needs within various settings
• To carry out joint assessments with other disciplines/agencies where appropriate
• To take part in research of health needs of people with learning disabilities to develop high quality services
• To maintain a personal and professional profile to fulfil NMC Revalidation requirements
• To provide a person-centred approach integrated within care planning to optimise integration into community life
• To participate in and encourage a multi-disciplinary approach at all times
• To develop and maintain a culture where service users, supported by advocates, can share in decisions affecting their lives
