Job summary

Scripture Union Scotland is seeking a Learning Manager to develop and manage training provision for staff and volunteers. The role is hybrid (Glasgow office/home) with travel as required and a fixed-term 3-year contract starting Autumn 2026.

The post focuses on coordinating learning, building a learning hub, and delivering engaging training while ensuring alignment with SU Scotland’s strategic plan and ethos.

Qualifications

• Experience designing training for organisations and building a training infrastructure.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with staff, volunteers and stakeholders.
• Commitment to SU Scotland’s ethos and vision; Occupational Requirement that the post-holder is a committed Christian.

Responsibilities

• Build on a recent training analysis to prioritise and create an infrastructure to support learning and development.
• Identify training needs with HR Partner, Volunteers Manager and Departmental Leads to align with SU Scotland’s strategy.
• Design courses for staff and volunteers with subject-matter experts and clear outcomes.
• Create a learning hub/platform to house training resources and records.
• Investigate and implement e-learning tools, feedback mechanisms and surveys for all training.
• Develop evaluation tools for feedback and reporting to drive improvement.
• Arrange, develop and deliver engaging classroom and virtual training sessions.
