Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a Further Education college in Leicester to appoint a Learning Coach on a temporary, long-term basis. You will support students aged 16-19 with their academic progress, personal development and wellbeing, delivering individual and group tutorials and monitoring attendance.

The successful candidate will hold Level 2 English and Maths, plus Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent, with experience in mentoring or pastoral roles and safeguarding knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, with a Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting young people with their academic, personal or educational development.
• Experience delivering tutorials, mentoring or pastoral support.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and student welfare for learners aged 16-19.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of learners and deliver individual and group tutorials.
• Monitor attendance and progress; provide targeted interventions to remove barriers to learning.
• Support students developing confidence, independence and employability skills.

Education

Minimum Level 2 English & Maths, Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent

The college is looking to take on a dedicated Learning Coach on a temporary, long-term basis, supporting students with their academic progress, personal development and wellbeing. The successful Learning Coach will manage a caseload of learners, deliver individual and group tutorials, monitor attendance and progress, and provide targeted interventions to help students overcome barriers to learning.

The successful Learning Coach will have:

• Minimum Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, alongside a Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent
• Previous experience supporting young people with their academic, personal or educational development
• Experience delivering engaging tutorials, mentoring sessions or pastoral support
• Knowledge of safeguarding, student welfare and supporting learners aged 16-19
• Strong organisational and IT skills, with the ability to monitor progress and maintain accurate records
• Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting young people
