Job summary

North Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Learning Assistant (Universal) to support children in Cumbernauld Primary School. The role is 10 hours per week, on-site, with duties including supervising arrival and collection, assisting with class activities, and helping with personal care and hygiene provisions as needed.

PVG Scheme membership is required before starting, and there may be opportunities to join supply lists for other vacancies.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school or voluntary capacity is essential.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Willingness to undertake NHS or Education training as required.
• PVG Scheme membership is required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Care for children and assist with personal hygiene requirements.
• Assist with daily reception and departure of children and escort duties.
• Set up and operate teaching aids, prepare classwork and materials, and reproduce resources.
