Midlothian Council is hiring for a permanent post based in Saltersgate. The role requires caring support for pupils with special needs, including administering medication and personal care, with PVG scheme membership anticipated. Training will be provided and placement is at 29.5 hours per week across 39 weeks per year.

The minimum actual salary starts at £21,637.00 per annum. Applicants must meet safeguarding criteria and be prepared to join Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme checks.

Competenze

• Essential literacy and numeracy at Standard Grade level or SVQ2 in Early Years Care and Education or National Certificate unit in Childcare & Education or equivalent competency.
• Experience in supporting children with special needs and administering medication.
• Certificates in manual handling, food hygiene, body spills and basic emergency first aid.

Mansioni

• Support staff and pupils with special needs and sensitive care.
• Assist with health-related tasks and monitoring of pupils' wellbeing.
• Engage in additional training and respond to individual pupil needs.
