Fashion Museum Bath (FMB) holds one of the world’s leading collections of fashion, spanning 400 years of human creativity, from 1600 to the present day. It is an exciting time for the Fashion Museum as we undertake a major project to open a new state-of-the-art museum, comprising galleries and learning spaces, and showcasing more of our extraordinary collection than ever before.
We are seeking to appoint a Learning and Engagement Officer, a key role in the FMB team who will actively contribute to the Museum’s development. The main purpose of the role is to ensure our programmes are accessible, welcoming, dynamic, and enjoyable. A significant focus will be engaging those who may experience barriers to connecting and engaging with museums in the region.
This programme helps support equitable access and is a key driver in relation to social impact and contributes significantly to the museum’s civic responsibility.
You will have demonstrable experience of working with community organisations in a museum, gallery, cultural institution, or visitor attraction and have a keen interest in Fashion.
You will understand the importance of, and have a strong commitment to, the social function of museums as inclusive and welcoming spaces which can positively impact the world around them.
Your work schedule will be hybrid, split between the office in Bath, working across a range of community settings throughout B&NES, and home.
