Purpose of the role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Learning & Development Partner to join our HR Support Services team. Based at our Head Office in Solihull (B37 7YB), with UK travel required, you will deliver our training strategy, ensure compliance, and support the growth of our people across all levels.

This role offers a great opportunity to shape the future of learning at Colas, working with internal stakeholders and external partners to build capability and support career development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Identify and prioritize training needs with business leaders.
  • Coordinate and manage daily training requests, maintaining accurate records.
  • Support the implementation of the L&D strategy with the Talent Development Manager.
  • Design and deliver bespoke leadership and management programs.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and contribute to ROI and ROE assessments.
  • Manage relationships with training providers, including contracts and SLAs.
  • Support apprenticeship and graduate programs, including recruitment and onboarding.
  • Assist with audits and budget reviews related to training activities.
  • Maintain training matrices aligned with the Learning Management System.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of L&D processes, systems, and policies.
Ideal Candidate

Minimum requirements include a CIPD Level 3 qualification in Learning and Development, proven experience in a consultative or specialist L&D role, and a strong understanding of the full learning cycle and talent development strategies. Candidates should have excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems, and experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of apprenticeships, funding, and industry standards is desirable. Experience in construction or industrial sectors is a plus but not essential.
