Job summary

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity in the Milestones Trust Learning and Development team. The Learning and Development team provides development and career progression opportunities to ensure our staff have the right skills and knowledge to excel in their roles and make a difference in the lives of the people we support. We are looking for someone to join us on a fixed term contract (maternity cover) as our Learning and Development Advisor. You will be joining a team that values collaboration, creativity and making an impact. This role is based at our office in Staple Hill, Bristol with travel to our services in Bristol, Swindon and surrounding areas. Hybrid working is available – some days in our office in Bristol will be required. Most facilitation is done face to face in our Bristol or Swindon offices.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and facilitating engaging training programmes
  • Supporting the roll‑out of our in‑house leadership programme
  • Coordinating external funding submissions to support learning initiatives
  • Overseeing our apprenticeship opportunities
  • Supporting the overall L&D team’s support to colleagues
  • Leading our onboarding programme
Qualifications
  • Significant experience as an independent facilitator who can engage and inspire (training qualification desirable but not essential)
  • A good understanding of the social care sector
  • Experience in a learning and development role within a regulated sector
  • Confidence using a Learning Management System and/or HR information system
  • A positive solution‑focused approach
  • A passion for developing staff and helping them thrive
