Apex Resource Management is seeking a Lean Manufacturing Engineer to join our client’s manufacturing operation in Oldbury. You will drive operational excellence by applying lean principles, implementing a 5S programme, and identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency across production lines.

You will work closely with Operations, Production and Technical teams to develop continuous improvement initiatives, deliver operator training, and embed a culture of safety and process

Qualifikationen

• 3–5 years of Lean Manufacturing, Process Improvement or Continuous Improvement experience.
• Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
• Practical application of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
• Experience with 5S implementation and delivering measurable improvements.
• Strong problem-solving skills to reduce waste and improve processes.
• Lean/Six Sigma accreditation is advantageous.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with production, technical and operations teams.
• Capacity to deliver training and support workforce development initiatives.

Aufgaben

• Work with Operations Manager and Team Leaders to implement and develop a 5S programme to reduce waste and keep a safe, organized workplace.
• Identify and lead CI and process-improvement activities to boost operational efficiency and meet production targets.
• Apply lean principles to identify waste, improve processes and drive sustainable improvements.
• Support production teams with structured problem-solving and process optimisation.
• Ensure Risk Assessments are established, maintained and reviewed across processes.
• Support Health & Safety initiatives and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Deliver operator training and contribute to workforce development with Production and Technical teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to implement best practices and embed continuous improvement.
• Promote lean methodologies and CI principles across the business.

Role Summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading manufacturing organisation specialising in a range of sectors including automotive, defence, medical and consumer goods.

You will play a key role in driving operational excellence across the production environment, implementing lean manufacturing principles, improving workplace organisation and identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.

Working closely with Operations, Production and Technical teams, you will also support employee development and help embed a culture of continuous improvement across the business.

Role & Responsibilities of the Lean Manufacturing Engineer

• Work alongside the Operations Manager and Team Leaders to implement and develop a 5S programme, reducing waste and maintaining a safe, organised and efficient workplace.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement and process improvement activities to increase operational efficiency and support production targets.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles to identify waste, improve processes and drive sustainable operational improvements.
• Support production teams with structured problem-solving and process optimisation.
• Ensure Risk Assessments are established, maintained and regularly reviewed across operational processes.
• Support Health & Safety initiatives and promote a proactive approach to safety throughout the business.
• Deliver operator training and contribute to employee development in collaboration with Production and Technical teams.
• Work cross-functionally with operational teams to implement best practice and embed continuous improvement.
• Promote lean methodologies and continuous improvement principles throughout the business.

Requirements of the Lean Manufacturing Engineer

• 3-5 years' experience within a Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Improvement or Continuous Improvement role.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Practical experience of implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
• Experience of 5S implementation and delivering measurable operational improvements.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve manufacturing processes.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma accreditation would be advantageous.
• Confident working cross-functionally with production, technical and operational teams.
• Ability to deliver training and support workforce development initiatives.
