Job summary

Apex Resource Management Ltd seeks a Continuous Improvement Engineer in Oldbury to drive operational excellence across manufacturing environments. You will implement lean manufacturing principles, lead 5S initiatives, and deliver workforce training in collaboration with production teams.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years' experience in a similar engineering or continuous improvement role.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma accreditation would be advantageous.
  • Ability to deliver operator training and support workforce development initiatives.
  • Experience implementing 5S activities and driving operational improvements is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Operations Manager and Team Leaders to implement and develop a 5S programme, reducing waste and maintaining a safe, organised and efficient workplace.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments are established, maintained and regularly reviewed across all operational processes.
  • Support Health & Safety initiatives and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the business.
  • Deliver operator training and contribute to employee development programmes in collaboration with production and technical teams.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead process improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support the achievement of production targets through effective problem-solving and process optimisation.
  • Work cross-functionally with operational teams to drive sustainable improvements and best practice.
  • Provide lean methodologies and continuous improvement principles throughout the business.

Role Summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join a leading manufacturing organisation who specialise in working across a variety of sectors including automotive, defence, medical and consumer goods. You play a key role in driving operational excellence, implementing lean manufacturing principles, improving workplace organisation, and supporting employee development across the production environment.

Role & Responsibilities of the Continuous Improvement Engineer
