Job summary

Progressive Recruitment is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer near Stevenage to drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement across a high-volume site. You will work with production, quality and engineering teams to optimise processes, reduce waste and support operational excellence initiatives.

The role offers exposure to a wide range of improvement projects, including NPI support, problem solving and equipment enhancements, with opportunities to develop within a growing manufacturing

Qualifications

• Experience in a Manufacturing Engineer/Process/Production/CI role.
• Exposure to IATF16949 would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & CI principles.
• Experience in process improvement in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Kaizen, Six Sigma, SMED or VSM.
• Understanding structured problem solving (8D or DMAIC).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proactive in identifying and delivering improvements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

• Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective actions.

Manufacturing Engineer

Manufacturing Engineer | Lean Manufacturing | Continuous Improvement | Stevenage | Up to £45,000

A leading Engineering & Manufacturing organisation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its engineering and operations team at its Manufacturing facility near Stevenage.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Production Engineer or Continuous Improvement Engineer looking to develop their career within a high-volume manufacturing environment. Working closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams, you will play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, increasing productivity, reducing waste and supporting operational excellence initiatives across the site.

The successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of manufacturing engineering activities including process improvement, Lean Manufacturing projects, problem solving, New Product Introduction (NPI) support and equipment improvement initiatives. You'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on manufacturing performance while working within a business that actively invests in continuous improvement and engineering development.

Unlike many Manufacturing Engineer positions, this role offers exposure to a wide variety of manufacturing improvement projects, allowing you to work across process optimisation, quality improvements, production efficiency and manufacturing development activities.

Manufacturing Engineer Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the ongoing development and improvement of manufacturing processes, ensuring production operations remain efficient, capable and cost-effective.

What're Looking For

• Experience within a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Production Engineer or similar role
• Exposure to IATF16949 would be beneficial for this Manufacturing Engineering role
