Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a well-established commercial vehicle dealer group for the role of HGV Workshop Supervisor in Widnes. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced HGV Technician with supervisory or leadership experience seeking progression while remaining hands-on.

The role offers a four-day week (Mon-Thu, 6:00am-4:30pm) with a salary circa £41,000 per year and a total earning potential up to £50,000, plus a company pension and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle or equivalent technical qualification.
• Proven experience in diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence; HGV licence preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills with a confident professional manner.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Commitment to high standards of quality and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and delegate work to the technician team, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Assist in training and developing staff, including apprentices.
• Liaise effectively with other supervisors, customers, and suppliers.
• Monitor workshop productivity and efficiency as a HGV Workshop Supervisor.
• Conduct final inspections and quality checks on repair work.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
• Maintain accurate job card documentation and ensure proper recording of work.
• Identify training needs and support staff development.
• Flexibly manage workload to support operational targets and team success.
