Job summary

Arcadis, a leading design, engineering and consultancy firm, seeks a Principal Wastewater Modeller in the UK to lead wastewater model development, manage project aspects and engage with clients to expand Arcadis’s portfolio through strategic interactions.

The role focuses on tackling UK regulatory requirements, CSO reduction, flood risk and network resilience, while mentoring colleagues and coordinating with other disciplines to deliver high-quality outputs.

Qualifications

• Advanced hydraulic modelling expertise for wastewater projects.
• Experience coordinating teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in InfoWorks ICM and GIS tools.
• Chartered membership with ICE or CIWEM is preferred.
• Strong QA procedures and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver wastewater and non-infrastructure modelling projects, managing tasks of varying scales.
• Review models, oversee build and verification of sewer networks, and develop strategic flood solutions.
• Provide support to designers at concept and detailed design stages.
• Lead client engagement and ensure outputs meet expectations.
• Mentor junior staff and assist with bids and programmes.
• Coordinate project elements, QA, subcontractor interactions and feedback.
• Collaborate with other engineering and environmental specialists to maintain project integrity.
