Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Wastewater Modeller in the Water Management team in the UK. You will lead the development of wastewater models, manage key project aspects, and engage with clients to expand Arcadis’s portfolio through strategic interactions.

The role emphasises collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership in delivering compliant, high-quality outputs for AMP8 programmes and regulatory requirements. Mentoring and guiding junior staff are integral to the position.

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in hydraulic modelling for wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
• Skilled in team and stakeholder coordination and management.
• Proficient in InfoWorks ICM; knowledge of HADES advantageous.
• Competent in GIS software packages.
• Chartered member of a relevant professional institution (ICE or CIWEM).
• Proven experience in model quality assurance procedures.
• Strong report-writing skills; adept at data analysis in spreadsheets.
• Coding experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver wastewater modelling projects and manage tasks of varying scales.
• Conduct technical reviews of models and oversee sewer network verification.
• Support designers at concept and detailed design stages.
• Review and enhance technical reports and presentations to high standards.
• Lead project elements including bids, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Collaborate with clients to explain model outputs and processes.
• Mentor junior team members and foster development.
• Ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.
• Coordinate with other engineers and environmental specialists.
• Liaise with Project Director and client to advance progress.
• Foster a collaborative environment and professional growth.
