Global Veterinary Careers is assisting a well-established independent veterinary group in Storrington to recruit a Lead Veterinary Receptionist. The role focuses on leading hospital reception, supporting a roving team and maintaining outstanding client care.

You will split time between frontline reception and leadership tasks, coordinating rotas, recruitment and training while upholding high standards of service across branches.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary reception or administration experience.
• Experience in a senior, supervisory or leadership position (preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence using clinical practice management systems and Microsoft Office.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• A genuine passion for delivering excellent client care and supporting colleagues.

Responsabilités

• Deliver outstanding client care and lead by example on reception.
• Support, motivate and develop the reception team.
• Coordinate rotas and manage staffing gaps across the hospital and branches.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training.
• Act as first point of contact for reception queries, issues and complaints.
• Support one-to-ones, appraisals and team development.
• Work with Client Care Manager to improve customer service and client satisfaction.
• Monitor KPIs such as call handling and pick-up rates; promote additional services.
• Support debt management and Provet diary administration.
• Help resolve day-to-day operational challenges and improve processes.
