Job summary

Capgemini Invent seeks a User Researcher to join its Digital Factory in the UK, focusing on user-centered design and evidence-based decision making. You will lead research across discovery through delivery, collaborating with product managers, designers, and developers.

Hybrid working is offered with offices in Manchester, London and Glasgow; you may travel to client locations as required. Strong storytelling and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading user research across the full product/service lifecycle.
• Proficiency with qualitative and quantitative studies (surveys, interviews, diary studies).
• Eligible for UK Security Check clearance (SC) or have it already.
• Experience with Government Digital Service (GDS) service standards and design principles.
• Strong storytelling, communication, stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary, agile teams influencing design through insights.
• Familiarity with using prototypes to test hypotheses and validate journeys.
• Knowledge of tools/practices for both in-person and remote research.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct high-impact user research to understand client users.
• Lead research for the team and propose best methodologies.
• Plan and run interviews, observations, diary studies, concept testing and usability studies.
• Use surveys to identify actionable insights and collaborate with analytics for synthesis.
• Consider end-to-end user journeys and external factors like policy and tech constraints.
• Communicate findings and involve the team to drive evidence-based design decisions.
• Embed user-centred design and research practices across teams and the business.
