Job summary

Capgemini Invent in the UK seeks a Senior User Researcher (SC Cleared) to lead user research within the Digital Excellence practice. You will collaborate with product, design and development teams to plan studies, gather insights, and shape evidence-based design decisions across major public and private sector projects.

You will bring hands-on leadership, agile experience, and a strong ability to communicate insights to diverse stakeholders. Hybrid working and UK travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership of user research using behavioural and attitudinal methods.
• Experience across multiple phases of product/service lifecycle.
• SC clearance or ability to qualify for SC (UK resident 5+ years, minimal travel).
• Experience with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and design principles.
• Strong storytelling, communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary, agile teams influencing design through insights.
• Familiarity with prototypes to test hypotheses and validate journeys.
• Understanding of tools and practices for in-person and remote research.

Responsibilities

• Lead user research and plan studies across product or service lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and developers to plan and conduct research.
• Communicate findings and synthesize insights to drive evidence-based design decisions.
• Embed user-centred design and best practices across teams and the business.
• Guide the team on methodologies and approaches for optimal user insights.

Bachelor's degree in Psychology
