Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead delivery of engineering projects and manage work packages across tunneling and underground space design. You will supervise teams, drive technical improvement, contribute to bids, and ensure compliance with health, safety and CDM regulations while coordinating with the Technical Directorate and Production Centres.

Extensive experience in tunnel and cavern design in the UK and Ireland is essential, including 2D/3D modelling, tunnel

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering projects and teams in tunneling or underground space design.
• Strong ability to develop and check design concepts, drawings, specs and reports.
• Familiarity with CDM regulations and health, safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead production and approval of design concepts, drawings, specifications and documents.
• Establish internal design standards and drive continuous quality improvements.
• Work across project teams to achieve objectives and mentor others.
• Prepare and check feasibility studies, design reports and tender documents.
• Assist with bids, financial controls and work-winning activities.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance on projects.
