Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director for the Midlands Transport Planning team to lead strategic initiatives, client engagement, and high-quality project delivery across transport planning projects. Qualifications

• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• Chartered status with CIHT or TPS is required.
• Extensive experience in transport planning, focusing on appraisal, business case development and/or monitoring and evaluation.
• Proven track record in winning work and leading teams.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: lead growth initiatives for transport planning and consulting, aligning with company goals.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: build relationships with public sector and private developers, represent the company at events.
• Project Delivery: oversee complex transport planning projects with quality, budget, and timeline adherence; manage risks.
• Business Development: identify and pursue new opportunities and bids across multidisciplinary projects.
• Team Development: recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing transport team.
