Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director or experienced Principal Consultant to join the Development Planning and Management Team in the South East, with hybrid work in London, St Albans or Birmingham. You will advise on transport planning for the Strategic Road Network and lead on complex, high-profile consultations.

The role requires extensive post-graduate transport planning experience, strong leadership and communication, and proficiency in transport modelling and planning tools.

Qualifications

• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Spatial/Urban Planning, or related field.
• Chartered membership of CIHT, TPS or CILT preferred.
• Extensive post-graduate experience in transport planning.
• Strong leadership, communication and client-management skills.
• Experience in transport modelling and planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead development planning transport team and manage client relationships.
• Review complex transport planning documents for SRN impact and junctions.
• Provide technical assurance and sign-off on recommendations.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of planners and consultants.
