Job summary

Cloud Imperium Games in Manchester seeks a Lead Tools Programmer to own existing tools and drive greenfield tool development for Star Citizen and Squadron 42. You will mentor the tools team, design technical solutions, and collaborate with designers, artists, engineers, QA and production to deliver robust desktop and web tooling.

Proficiency in C#, .NET, WPF or Blazor and SQL is expected, along with a passion for powerful usability.

Qualifications

• Proven commercial experience with C#, .NET, WPF or Blazor, and SQL.
• Demonstrated passion for delivering great tooling with strong usability.
• Ability to lead in a cooperative team environment and manage large/legacy code bases.
• Experience working in an agile, cross-functional environment.
• Ability to mentor a team of programmers with diverse experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess team performance, mentor, schedule and allocate tasks.
• Provide technical design solutions up-to-date with latest practices and technologies.
• Drive engineering principles and promote innovative ways of working.
• Regularly contribute to the codebase to improve engine stability, performance and features.
• Communicate requirements with teammates and internal/external customers.
