Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Principal Temporary Works Engineer in Bristol to lead the design and delivery of temporary works schemes. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and work with clients, contractors and other design disciplines to deliver complex projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Significant experience in temporary works design and engineering.
• Strong knowledge of BS, Eurocodes and industry guidance.
• Excellent technical and problem-solving abilities.
• Confidence to communicate with clients, contractors and senior stakeholders.
• Chartered status or clear pathway towards Chartership advantageous.
• Commercial mindset and ambition to grow the consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of temporary works solutions from concept to completion.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to engineers.
• Review and approve designs, calculations and technical documentation.
• Work closely with clients, contractors and other design disciplines.
• Identify practical and innovative solutions to complex temporary works problems.
• Support business development and build strong client relationships.
• Help shape the growth and technical reputation of the consultancy.
