Job summary

A Bristol-based civil and structural engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Temporary Works Engineer to join its growing team. You will lead temporary works design across key projects, coordinate with contractors, and take ownership from concept through delivery.

The role offers mentoring of junior engineers, site visits, and a clear path towards Chartership with ICE or IStructE, with supportive management and opportunities to progress into leadership.

Qualifications

• Design-focused consultancy experience within the UK construction industry.
• Strong understanding of temporary works design and BS5975.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and interpreting drawings.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior engineers is advantageous.
• Working towards Chartered status with ICE or IStructE desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead temporary works design across multiple projects from concept to delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with clients and contractors.
• Coordinate workload, communicate with clients, and manage sites.
• Develop practical, buildable design solutions and engineering calculations.
• Engage in professional development toward Chartership.
