Job summary

Kier Group plc is seeking a Principal Temporary Works Engineer to lead complex temporary works design and engineering services. The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams and providing technical leadership across a broad project portfolio.

Based in multiple UK locations with agile working options, you’ll contribute to safe, buildable solutions from concept through delivery, supporting Kier’s renowned infrastructure projects and design services.

Qualifications

• Requires Chartered membership of a relevant institution (e.g. CEng MICE) or substantial experience in construction engineering.
• Experience in leading complex construction engineering services, including temporary works design.
• Able to provide technical leadership and design management across multidisciplinary teams.
• Skilled at delivering innovative, buildable solutions that enhance project efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex construction engineering services across projects.
• Coordinate temporary works design with permanent works where applicable.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring within multidisciplinary teams.
• Review third‑party designs to ensure Kier and client requirements are met.
