Job summary

Kier Group plc in the United Kingdom is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead delivery of complex construction engineering services within the Kier Design team. You will oversee temporary works design, bid support, value engineering, design management and technical assessment across a broad portfolio, ensuring safe, buildable solutions.

You will mentor engineers, drive design deliverables, manage projects from remit through completion, and build strong client relationships.

Qualifications

Chartered engineer with relevant experience in leading complex construction engineering projects.
Experience in temporary works design, value engineering and design management.
Ability to provide technical leadership and mentoring to teams.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and consultancy services including temporary works design, bid support, and value engineering.
Manage projects from remit development through to completion, ensuring technical compliance and client satisfaction.
Oversee the work of engineers and technical staff, contributing to design deliverables and maintaining quality standards.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to colleagues, supporting their professional development.
Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, representing Kier at meetings and contributing to business development.
