Job summary

Kier Group plc. in the UK is seeking a Temporary Works Design Engineer to join the Kier Design team, delivering safe, buildable temporary works across a range of projects.

You will lead design and checking, integrate with permanent works where applicable, and support tender and bid activities. Based in multiple locations with agile working (up to 1–2 days from home), the role requires strong project delivery, client relationship development, and delivery of design outputs including calculations,

Qualifications

• Lead temporary works design and checking, integrated with permanent works where applicable
• Experience with tender and bid activities including outline design schemes and feasibility studies
• Manage project delivery, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies
• Develop positive relationships with clients and design teams, acting as lead representative at meetings
• Overseeing production of design deliverables including calculations, drawings, reports and risk assessments
• In possession of a full driving licence and relevant engineering experience

Responsibilities

• Leading temporary works design and checking, integrated with permanent works design as applicable
• Supporting tender and bid activities including outline design schemes and feasibility studies
• Managing project delivery, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies
• Developing positive relationships with clients and design teams, acting as lead representative at meetings
• Overseeing the production of design deliverables including calculations, drawings, reports and risk assessments
• Working towards or having completed IEng Initial Professional Development with a relevant professional institution
