Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead the technical and design delivery of our residential development programme. You will guide a team including Design Coordinators, Document Controllers and a Project Planner, ensuring projects meet safety, quality and programme requirements.

Working as part of the Leadership Team, you will collaborate with Construction, Commercial and Development colleagues to drive governance, continuous improvement and ensure

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or higher qualification (Level 4+) in a construction discipline.
• CSCS card or equivalent health & safety qualification.
• 5+ years in a Senior Technical/Design Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and CDM 2015.
• Experience with NHBC or similar warranty providers.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and design delivery from tender to handover.
• Provide governance across projects to ensure compliant, buildable designs.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks with early design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with planning conditions and fire safety requirements.
• Review drawings and specifications for consistency and quality.
• Coordinate external consultants and stakeholders to meet programme and budget.
• Develop and monitor design programmes aligned with milestones.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of Design Coordinators and Planner.
