Job summary

Safran is seeking an Assistant Principal Systems Engineer for our Gloucester site to drive the development of aircraft landing gear systems in alignment with customer needs and regulatory standards. You will lead planning, requirements capture and analysis, validation and verification, and manage supplier interactions to ensure robust system delivery.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to the continuous improvement of Safran's system development

Qualifications

• Experience delivering systems engineering artefacts across lifecycle stages.
• Strong background in requirements capture, analysis and validation.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with suppliers.
• Knowledge of aircraft landing gear systems (ATA32) or comparable complex aerospace systems.
• Fresh signatory experience and ability to author technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead system development planning aligned with Safran processes.
• Capture and analyse requirements at system, sub-system and equipment levels.
• Plan and execute validation and verification activities with evidence.
• Coordinate supplier management for equipment such as actuators, hoses, and harnesses.
• Produce and manage systems engineering documentation and DDPS dossiers.
