Job summary

Safran Landing Systems is seeking a passionate Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Gloucester site. You will lead the development of innovative landing gear solutions throughout the product lifecycle, collaborating with design, analysis, manufacturing and testing teams to ensure safe, reliable, and commercially effective products.

You will mentor engineers, shape engineering processes, and drive continuous improvements while working in a multidisciplinary environment that values

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex mechanical design projects and leading technical work packages within an engineering environment.
• Strong CAD, 3D modelling and engineering drawing capability, with a practical understanding of GD&T, design standards and configuration management.
• Ability to develop evidence-based solutions to complex engineering challenges and make sound technical recommendations.
• Experience working with safety-critical products within aerospace or a similarly complex engineering sector such as defence, automotive, rail, energy or advanced manufacturing.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or technically reviewing the work of other engineers.
• Knowledge of qualification, certification or regulatory requirements associated with safety-critical products.

Your Role As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

you will play a key role in developing innovative landing gear solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle. You'll lead complex design activities, solving challenging engineering problems and collaborating with specialists across design, analysis, manufacturing and testing to deliver safe, reliable and commercially effective products. You'll have the opportunity to influence significant product and programme decisions, mentor developing engineers and drive continuous improvements to engineering processes, methods and tools. Working within a highly skilled, multidisciplinary environment, you'll help shape the future of aerospace technology while ensuring technical excellence remains at the heart of everything we do.
