Job summary

Boeing Defence United Kingdom Limited is seeking a System Safety and Environmental Engineering Manager to lead safety and environmental programs for UK platforms.

You will plan resources, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement while mentoring a diverse team of engineers, graduates, and apprentices. Strong stakeholder diplomacy and travel readiness are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Ability to develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures.
• Experience in resource acquisition, supplier management, and process improvement.
• Strong relationship-building skills with customers, partners, peers, and direct reports.
• Experience in motivating and developing team members.
• Formal training in system safety and/or environmental engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute frameworks for safety management of products, systems and services.
• Support programmes with safety and environmental engineering expertise.
• Plan and forecast resource requirements and manage budgets.
• Lead continuous improvement to enhance team performance and delivery.
• Foster growth of a diverse team and oversee recruitment and early career support.
• Oversee development and performance management of the team.
• Drive development of technical leaders within the team.
• Contribute to safety and environmental assurance across products and services.
• Liaise with Safety Management System staff to ensure safe delivery.
• Interact with UK MOD and Boeing stakeholders; travel may be required.
