Job summary

Abingdon and Witney College is seeking an experienced Study Programme Lead to oversee Health, Social Care and Early Years programmes at our Witney Campus. You will teach across courses, plan delivery, and ensure high-quality learner experiences.

You will lead safeguarding practices, support learners through placements, and work with employers to enhance outcomes. Start date August 2026; hours per week 37; 52 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Health, Social Care or Education is essential.
• Qualified Teacher Status, or willingness to work towards teaching qualification.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
• Level 2 (or equivalent) literacy and numeracy qualifications.
• Experience teaching Health, Social Care and Early Years or related curriculum area.
• Excellent teaching and classroom management skills.
• Ability to engage and support diverse learner groups.
• Desirable: Assessor and/or Verifier qualification.
• Desirable: experience teaching in post-16 or Further Education setting.
• Desirable: strong links with health, social care or early years employers.

Responsibilities

• Leading the planning, delivery, and quality assurance in Health, Social Care, and Early Years programmes.
• Teaching engaging and inclusive lessons across Health, Social Care, and Early Years programmes.
• Supporting learners through practical training, work placements, and professional development.
• Embedding safeguarding, equality, and inclusive practice into all aspects of delivery.
• Providing tutorial and pastoral support to learners.
• Monitoring learner progress and supporting achievement and progression.
• Contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
• Working closely with employers, colleagues, and external partners to enhance learner outcomes.
