Job summary

Prismatic Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Structures Technical Authority to oversee the development and integration of structural aspects for the HAPS programme. This senior role delivers lightweight, high-performance structural hardware for stratospheric autonomous platforms in a mission‑critical aerospace/defence environment.

Reporting to the Structures Team Lead, you will act as the recognised structural engineering Technical Authority, lead design and verification, mentor engineers, and

Qualifications

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven structural design and analysis experience in aerospace or regulated industries.
• Understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing methods.
• Experience with structural integrity, fatigue and damage tolerance.
• Aerodynamics awareness and load assessment.
• Experience with structural analysis software and engineering tools.
• Delivery of complex mechanical structural projects from requirements through verification and release.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to lead technical reviews and mentor other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the recognised structural engineering Technical Authority.
• Lead development and release of mechanical structural hardware (airframe structures, flight control mechanisms, landing gear, interfaces).
• Apply design-for-manufacture, design-for-test and maintainability principles.
• Ensure test rigs are suitable for structural testing.
• Carry out detailed design for mechanical structure architecture and supplier engagement.
• Apply design assurance practices and maintain design records.
• Coach and develop team members and promote safety and integrity.
• Collaborate with Systems, Avionics, Power and Propulsion teams for end-to-end integration.
