Job summary

Copello is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer (Mid, Senior or Principal) for a permanent hybrid role in Bristol. Your work will include static strength analysis of metal and composite aerospace structures and building, running and post-processing FEA models with Nastran, ANSYS and Altair.

You’ll influence design and performance across the full product lifecycle, from concept to testing, collaborating closely with design, manufacturing, testing teams, customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with structural analysis and FEA/CAD tools.
• Knowledge of metallic and composite materials and fatigue/damage tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out static strength analysis of metallic and composite aerospace structures.
• Build, run and post-process FEA models using Nastran, ANSYS and Altair.
• Analyse components, sub-assemblies and full-airframe load cases.
• Produce high-quality stress reports and structural substantiation.
• Support structural testing, including predictions and correlation of test results.
• Apply Roark, Niu, Bruhn, MMPDS and ESDU references.

Structural Analysis Engineer - Aerospace-Mid, Senior and Principal Level- Permanent role- £40,000-£75,000 DOE

Location: Bristol, UK - Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week on-site)

Join a growing aerospace engineering team working on mission-critical technology across Defence, Security and Space. You'll have the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to manufacturing and structural testing.

This is a hands-on role where your analysis will directly influence the design and performance of cutting-edge aerospace structures.

What You'll Be Doing

• Carry out static strength analysis of metallic and composite aerospace structures.
• Build, run and post-process FEA models using tools such as Nastran, ANSYS and Altair.
• Analyse components, sub-assemblies and full-airframe load cases.
• Produce high-quality stress reports and structural substantiation.
• Support structural testing, including predictions and correlation of test results.
• Apply industry-standard methods and references including Roark, Niu, Bruhn, MMPDS and ESDU.
• Work closely with design, manufacturing, test teams, customers and suppliers.
• Plan and manage your own workload, estimates and delivery timescales.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant structural analysis experience.
• Experience or familiarity with FEA and CAD tools.
• Working knowledge of metallic and composite materials.
• Understanding of fatigue and damage tolerance principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A proactive approach and the ability to take ownership of your work.
