Job summary

Kier Group seeks a Principal Structural Engineer to join the Building Structures team across Liverpool, Birmingham, or Wymondham. You will lead major projects, mentor engineers and technicians, and shape design solutions for education, defence, retail, leisure and commercial sectors.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status with professional institutional membership.
• Experience in leading structural projects and mentoring junior staff.
• UK/EU design standards knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead structural engineer on major/complex building projects.
• Prepare fee proposals, schedules, and resource planning.
• Mentor other engineers and technicians; promote CPD.
• Produce/check calculations, drawings, models, specs, and schedules.
• Lead design discussions with Building Control and authorities for Building Safety Act compliance.
